Amazon and Adventure
 


It is a special tour, created by specialists in the area of “life and jungle survival” with a goal to teach, through simple and safe procedures, the secrets and magic of the rainforest.

Program General Data


Private operated tours, with varied duration (check description below), that offers basic and practiced knowledge about aspects of life in the jungle, including overnight and day programs.

Work is performed with a team of up to 10(ten) people and the group may have a minimum of 40(forty) and a maximum of 310(three hundred and ten) people.

The program starts with rides on motorized canoes, from the Ariaú Amazon Towers or from the ecological reserve of Terra Verde, followed by a tour through the rivers and igapós (flooded areas) of the region. Traveling time is approximately 30 minutes, to the opening of Patauá creek. Continue the trip for another 15 minutes, with the help of paddles.

Arriving at the jungle there will be an intense amount of activities, divided in several workshops in the middle of the jungle.

Workshop Contents


1.
Walks on trails and off trails - they take place at the beginning and return of the program, including identification of vegetation species, and a demonstration of how to build traps for animals and fish.

Important:
the animals are not captured and the traps are undone at the end of the demonstration.

2. N
atural obstacles - demonstration of techniques used in the jungle, to surpass determined types of natural difficulties, such as creeks, caves, ravines, etc.

3.
Guide by compass - demonstration of basic technique for the use of a compass in the jungle.

4.
Construction of shelters - workshops to show techniques for the construction of shelters using only raw material found in the jungle.

5.
Obtaining water and fire - practical lessons about how to obtain fire through natural means and about how to find and treat water for personal use.

6.
Obtaining and conserving natural food - practical lessons on how to identify food that can be found in the jungle, how to prepare and conserve.

Important:
no one kind of animal can be hunted.

7.
River rides - rowing through the creeks and flooded jungle of the area, during the high water level of Negro River, day and night rides.

8.
Overnight - in case the program lasts until the next day, besides the above mentioned activities, there will be an overnight stay in the rainforest, on wild camp ground, with the support during the entire time of a professional team from Companhia de Aventuras.

The overnight stay will take place in the jungle, on native shelters (tapiris) on hammocks with nets. Dinner will be based on local dishes and breakfast will include typical regional items (black coffee, juices, cooked yucca and typical fruits). It is also includes in the program a night walk on the jungle on an interpretation trail.

Important Observations

1. The maximum capacity for overnight tours at the jungle is of 90 people (only).
2. All meals are included during the program.
3. Four bottles of water per person, per day, is also included.
4. Juices during meals are also included.

2. Communication – through radio (2 devices per team; 6 devices for the entire program).

Program Without Overnight Stay 


08:00h -
loading on motorized canoes (starting at Ariau Amazon Tower on Ecological Reserve Terra Verde), making way through Negro River. Tour through creeks and flooded jungles of the area. Visit to Lake Acajatuba. Visit to the native’s house to get to know their way of life and relationship to the Amazonian environment.

08:50h/09:10h - arrival at Patauá Creek;

walk in the jungle, on trails with passage through obstacles such as suspended rope bridges;

workshop on how to get fire and water;

workshop on how to build shelter in the jungle;

basic orientation about the jungle, such as how to use a compass;

Program With Overnight Stay


The program offers the same trips as the one without overnight stay, from 08:00 to 15:00 hrs. From that time on the program is as follows:

15:30h/16:30h - walk into the jungle and set up camp in the jungle, making use of the knowledge acquired during the workshops;
16:30h/18:00h - walk in the jungle through existing trails, and build traps to catch fish;
17:00h/18:30h - preparation for overnight stay, followed by choosing a place to demonstrate hunting activities (no animals will be killed) for pictures only;
18:30h/19:30h - typical dinner;
19:30h/20:30h - hunting team departure (photos);
20:30h/24:00h - night walk in the jungle;
00:00h/05:00h - rest;
05:00h/05:30h - regional breakfast;
05:30h/06:45h - walk in the jungle;
06:45h/07:00h -
end of program and departure on motorized canoes for the return trip.
